Service Management and Reporting Tool (SMaRT)

Across Nebraska, ESUs provide a wide range of services to support schools, educators, and students. To ensure these efforts are coordinated, understood, and continuously improved, there must be a consistent way to document and analyze what services are being delivered across the state.

SMaRT exists to support this need by:

• Providing a shared system for tracking ESU services
• Supporting statewide visibility into service delivery
• Informing decision-making and coordination efforts

This work reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that ESU services are not only delivered, but understood, aligned, and continuously improved through shared data and insight.

SMaRT functions as a statewide data and reporting system used to document and organize services provided by ESUs.

At a high level:

• ESU personnel enter and manage data related to services they provide
• The ESU Coordinating Council (ESUCC) oversees the system, ensuring consistency, coordination, and alignment
• Data collected through SMART supports reporting, planning, and communication across the ESU network
• Statewide stakeholders use this information to better understand service delivery and identify opportunities for improvement

This coordinated approach allows the ESU network to move beyond isolated reporting toward a more cohesive and informed understanding of services statewide.
