The ESU Coordinating Council (ESUCC) supports Nebraska schools through a coordinated approach to technology and data management, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and aligned statewide. This work includes managing critical platforms like student information systems, supporting data reporting and service tracking, and providing infrastructure through initiatives such as the Nebraska Cloud.
ESUCC also leads efforts in cybersecurity coordination, helping schools protect sensitive information and respond to evolving digital risks. Together, these services create a stable, efficient foundation that allows educators and leaders to focus on teaching, learning, and continuous improvement.
Student Records System (SRS)
The Student Records System (SRS) is a statewide platform that supports the creation, management, and transfer of special education records for students across Nebraska. Coordinated through the ESU Coordinating Council, SRS helps ensure that documentation is consistent, compliant, and accessible—supporting schools in meeting state and federal requirements while serving students effectively.
Nebraska PowerSchool Cooperative (NebPS)
The Nebraska PowerSchool Collaborative supports districts across the state in implementing and maintaining PowerSchool as their student information system. Through a coordinated, statewide model, the collaborative provides consistent support, shared expertise, and efficient systems that help schools manage student data, reporting, and day-to-day operations with confidence.
Service Management and Reporting Tool (SMaRT)
The Service Management and Reporting Tool (SMaRT) is a statewide platform and data-driven process that supports the coordination, tracking, and reporting of services provided by Nebraska’s Educational Service Units (ESUs). Managed by the ESU Coordinating Council, SMART helps identify district needs, align services accordingly, and ensure that efforts are documented consistently and informed by accurate, shared data—supporting effective implementation at the local level.
