Distance Education

Distance Learning (DL) in Nebraska expands access to coursework schools may not otherwise be able to provide due to staffing, enrollment, or geographic constraints. Coordinated by the ESU Coordinating Council, this service supports districts through a flexible statewide system grounded in instructional quality and local decision-making.

Artificial Intelligence

In a rapidly evolving AI landscape, the ESU Coordinating Council provides trusted guidance, professional learning, and system-level support to help Nebraska schools integrate artificial intelligence in ways that are ethical, instructionally sound, and educator-centered.

Instructional Materials

The ESU Coordinating Council supports Nebraska schools in accessing, selecting, and implementing instructional materials that align to required content areas and high-quality instructional practices. Through coordinated systems, statewide partnerships, and practical supports, this work helps ensure that educators and students have access to materials that support effective teaching and learning.

Canvas Consortium

The Nebraska Canvas Consortium supports schools and districts across the state in implementing and sustaining a high-quality learning management system (LMS). Through a coordinated, statewide approach, the consortium provides access to Canvas along with the guidance, infrastructure, and support needed for effective use in teaching and learning.

Social Studies Inquiry Lessons

The ESU Coordinating Council supports Nebraska schools in accessing and implementing high-quality social studies instructional materials that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and civic engagement. Through coordinated resources, statewide collaboration, and instructional support, this work helps educators bring social studies to life in meaningful and engaging ways.

Literacy

The ESU Coordinating Council supports statewide literacy efforts by helping schools implement high-quality instructional materials and strengthen literacy practices through coordinated, system-level support. This work is grounded in collaboration with the Nebraska Department of Education and focuses on building sustainable, effective literacy systems in schools.

Textbook Loan Program

The Nebraska Textbook Loan Program supports non-public schools' access to instructional materials aligned to required areas of instruction. Beginning in 2024, the ESU Coordinating Council supports this work by coordinating ordering, communication, and maintaining a statewide system of support in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Education.
