Student Records System (SRS)

The Student Records System exists to:

The Student Records System operates as a statewide data system used by schools and ESUs to manage special education records and processes.

At a high level:

• Schools and districts use SRS to create, store, and manage special education documentation (IEPs, evaluations, notices, and related records)
• Educational Service Units (ESUs) support districts through training, guidance, and technical assistance
• The ESU Coordinating Council (ESUCC) coordinates the system, supports development, and ensures consistency across the state
• The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) provides oversight and alignment with state and federal requirements

SRS also enables the secure transfer of student records between districts, ensuring continuity of services when students move within Nebraska.

SRS supports the full lifecycle of special education documentation, including:

• Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) evaluations
